STUDENT SPOTLIGHT | Meet Emma Puccio!

For Emma, the journey to visual arts began with an unexpected pivot. After severe carpal tunnel cut short her first creative passion—music—she felt like her artistic story had ended. Then, she picked up a paintbrush, and everything shifted.

"Painting gave me purpose again, and now I can’t imagine life without it," Emma shares.

Currently pursuing her BFA at Montserrat, Emma`s work centers on reclaiming the power and beauty of the feminine form—using bold, energetic colors and abstract movement to celebrate strength, emotion, and autonomy. Through her art, she invites viewers to see the body not as an object, but as a vessel for story and resilience.

"Every brushstroke comes from resilience, recovery, and rediscovery," she says. "I hope that when people see my art, they feel a little of that power, too."
